Browsing these pages means accepting the terms below. They can change — the menus, the rooms and the way ordering works are all things a restaurant revises — so the date at the top of this page is the one that applies.

Everything on the site is offered for information. In particular, dishes, drinks and prices are shown as a guide to what the kitchen and the bar serve, and are not an offer or a binding quotation: what you are charged is the bill you are given at the table, at the rates in force on the day.

Nothing on this site is a table reservation. The ordering page is for guests who are already sitting in the room, and choosing a table there does not hold one for you.

The name, the marks, the text, the layout and the photographs on this site belong to the house. The photographs in particular are the owner's own, taken in these rooms and on this stretch of the lake.

You are welcome to link to any page, and to quote a short passage with a credit. Reproducing the photographs, the wordmark or a whole page elsewhere needs our written permission first.

We keep this site accurate and available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or correct in every detail at every moment. A menu can be out of date for an afternoon; the kitchen runs out of things.

We are not responsible for the content of any site you reach from a link here, nor for anything that happens to you on it. That includes the map, which is Google's.

We only ever hold what you have typed into this site yourself. There is no advertising network on these pages, no profiling, no data broker, and nothing about you is ever sold or rented.

• When you write to us. The contact form keeps your name, whatever way back you gave us — an email address, a phone number, or both — your subject and your message. It is stored in our own database and read by the people who work here, so that somebody can answer you. We keep it until it is deleted.
• When you join the list. The box in the footer keeps your email address, and marks you as someone who has asked to hear from us. We use it to write about offers, coupons and occasions, and for nothing else. Every letter we send carries a way to tell us to stop.
• When you open a tab. Choosing a table and pressing Start ordering creates a session: the table, the six-character code, what is ordered, any note for the chef, and the totals. It is how the floor knows what you asked for. A tab expires twelve hours after it is opened, and is closed by staff when the sitting ends. We do not ask for your name to open one.
• When you read a page. We count visits so we can see which pages are read. No cookie is set for it, and nothing that identifies you is kept: your address and browser are folded into a digest that is re-salted every day and then discarded, so today's visits cannot be joined to yesterday's or to you. You can refuse it in the cookie notice.
• What we work out from the above. If you write to us and later join the list, those are held as one guest record with a customer number, so that we are not writing to the same person twice under two spellings. It holds the same fields you gave us and nothing more.

Three services sit behind this site, and they are the whole list.

• Our database. Everything above is stored in one database that we run. It is reachable only by staff who have signed into the management panel with their own account, and every change they make is recorded.
• Resend, which delivers the email this site sends — the letter that thanks you for joining the list, the password-reset link for staff, and the notices that tell the house a message has arrived. Your address passes through it in order to be delivered to you.
• Google Maps, which draws the map at the foot of the About and Contact pages. The map is loaded from Google when you scroll near it, and at that point Google can see that a browser at your address asked for it and may set its own cookies in its own name. We have no access to any of that, and none of the rest of this site involves Google. If you would rather not load it, the address is written out in full beside it on both pages.

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can ask to be taken off the mailing list at any time, and we will take you off it.

The ordering page asks your device where it is, at the moment you start a tab. It does that to confirm that you are at the lounge — the page is for guests sitting in the room, and a tab opened from across town is a lost order and a confused kitchen. Since it is what the page is gated on, ordering online is not available without it; everything else on this site works exactly as it does now if you refuse.

It is asked at the moment you start a tab, and never in the background. The reading is compared with the restaurant's own position inside your browser: the coordinates are not sent to us, not stored, and not given to anyone. You can refuse in the cookie settings, refuse again when your browser asks, and you can still order by speaking to whoever is serving you.

Staff passwords are stored as one-way hashes and never in a readable form. Sign-in attempts are rate-limited, a reset link can be used once and expires within the hour, and using it signs out every session that account holds.

No system is perfect. If you think something here has gone wrong, tell us at the address above and we would rather hear it early.

This site is operated from Pokhara and these terms are governed by the law of Nepal. Any dispute arising from the site is for the competent courts of Kaski district.

When something here changes we change this page and move the date at the top of it. If a change means we would be asking you for something new, the cookie notice comes back and asks you again rather than assuming your last answer covers it.
